March 12th Fishing Report

Posted by Jeff Gray on

With the river coming off a frosty start to March it looks like we’ll have decent weather for the foreseeable future. Look for the Skwala nymphs to be staged in the riffles and along the edges of the river. No adults, yet, but on any given day you might pick off a few fish with a well placed adult. Your best option will be to throw a short nymph rig in the shallower runs and riffles or a deep nymph rig in the tail outs. Fish are starting to spread out so you’ll likely find them in many different water types. Try different depths til you find the fish. Shop is open 7 DAYS  a week now so stop by and pick up some bugs or get the latest information.
Flies to have in your arsenal today

Definitely have some size 8-12 rubber legs in black or black/coffee

Worms are always a great open in the Spring. We like Pink or Red

Any of the techy nymphs in a size 14-18 will get the job done as well.

Good Luck and be safe on the river.
